SILFS Prize for the Philosophy of Science 2018, Deadline: 31 Dec 2018

SILFS PRIZE FOR THE PHILOSOPHY OF SCIENCE 2018
1. The Italian Society for Logic and the Philosophy of Science (SILFS), in
order to promote research in philosophy of science, establishes a prize
called "SILFS Prize for the Philosophy of Science".
2. The prize is awarded every two years.
3. Eligibility: all scholars affiliated to Italian/foreign Universities or
Research Institutions, irrespective of their role, nationality, or gender,
who have not yet reached the age of 40 by the deadline of this call for
application.
4. The prize is awarded by an Evaluating Board Committee, which is
appointed by the SILFS steering committee, composed by members of the
steering committee itself as well as by other philosophy of science
scholars affiliated to Italian/foreign Universities or Research
Institutions.
5. Applicants are requested to submit an original work (not previously
published) written in English (Max 10000 words, abstract and references
not included) on any relevant topic of philosophy of science.
6. The winner of the 2018 SILFS Prize for the Philosophy of Science will
be invited to present her\his work at the 4th SILFS Postgraduate
Conference to be held in Urbino from the 3rd to the 6th of June 2019.
SILFS will reimburse all travel and accommodation expenses (up to a
maximum of 1.500 euros). The winner of the 2018 prize will also be invited
to send her\his article to *Foundations of Science* (Springer), which will
publish the proceedings of the 4th SILFS Postgraduate Conference.
7. The deadline for submissions for the 2018 SILFS Prize for the
Philosophy of Science is the 31st of December, 2018. Applicants should
send their papers in a pdf format (Max 10000 words, abstract and
references not included) by e-mail to the Secretary of the SILFS, Dr.
Giuseppe Sergioli ( giuseppe.sergioli@gmail.com).
8. The Evaluation Committee for the 2018 SILFS Prize for the Philosophy of
Science is composed by: Cristina Amoretti (Università di Genova),
Raffaella Campaner (Universita di Bologna), Gustavo Cevolani (Scuola Alti
Studi IMT Lucca), Luisa Damiano (Universita di Messina), Edoardo Datteri
(Universita di Milano Bicocca), Vincenzo Fano (Universita di Urbino),
Marco Giunti (Universita di Cagliari), Federico Laudisa (Universita
Milano-Bicocca), Federica Russo (Universiteit van Amsterdam), Sandro Sozzo
(University of Leicester), Giovanni Valente (Politecnico di Milano).
