Spring Course in Epistemic Game Theory

25 Jun - 9 Jul 2018
Maastricht, The Netherlands

In 2018, our EPICENTER will organize the fifth EPICENTER Spring Course in
Epistemic Game Theory Maastricht University, June 25 ? July 9, 2018

Registration: If you want to participate, please send an E-mail to Andrés
Perea at: course@epicenter.name<mailto:course@epicenter.name> Please
indicate clearly your university, type of student or position (bachelor-,
master- or PhD student, or researcher), and your background/field of
expertise. The registration deadline is May 30, 2018.

Registration fee: The registration fee for this course is 80 euros. To see
how you can pay this amount, please visit our course website:
http://www.epicenter.name/springcourse/ The deadline for paying the
registration fee is May 30, 2018.

Credits and certificate: At the end of the course there will be an exam,
which is optional. So, you are free to participate without doing the exam.
Everybody who attends at least 20 out of 25 sessions will earn an official
certificate from the EPICENTER and our university. The certificate states
that the workload of this course amounts to 200 hours, which corresponds
to 6.5 ECTS. If you pass the exam, you get a special certificate saying
that, next to successfully following the course, you also successfully
participated in the exam. This should usually be sufficient to get 6.5
ECTS for this course at your home university.

About the course: Epistemic game theory is a new, fresh approach to game
theory where the reasoning of people is at center stage. More precisely,
it investigates how people like you and me reason in a game theoretic
situation before they make a decision. Not only do we reason about the
possible choices of others, but also about the reasoning of others. This
type of reasoning will be our main theme of interest. The course offers a
deep introduction into the beautiful world of epistemic game theory, and
is open to advanced bachelor students, master students, PhD students and
researchers all over the world. For more information about the course,
together with a full program of the course, please visit our course
website: http://www.epicenter.name/springcourse/

Previous editions: In 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 we also gave the EPICENTER
Spring Course in Epistemic Game Theory. All editions were a big success,
with highly motivated students from all across Europe and even outside
(see our course website http://www.epicenter.name/previous-courses/ for
some nice pictures from previous years, the names of the participants and
the universities they came from). We hope the 2018 edition will be at
least as good.

Forward: Please forward this message to all people whom you think might be
interested.
