Logic, Algebra and Truth Degrees (LATD) 2018 28 - 31 August, Bern, Switzerland First Announcement and Call for Papers The sixth edition of the conference "Logic, Algebra and Truth Degrees" (LATD) will take place 28-31 August 2018 in Bern, Switzerland. http://www.latd2018.unibe.ch LATD 2018 will be co-located with the twelfth edition of the conference Advances in Modal Logic (AiML 2018) http://www.latd2018.unibe.ch/. Mathematical Fuzzy Logic is the sub-discipline of Mathematical Logic that is concerned with the notion of comparative truth. The assumption that "truth comes in degrees" has proved to be very useful in many theoretical and applied areas of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Philosophy. The LATD conference series started as an official meeting of the working group on Mathematical Fuzzy Logic and has evolved into a wider meeting in algebraic logic and related areas. Its main goal is to foster collaboration between researchers in these areas, and to promote communication and cooperation with members of neighbouring fields. We invite contributions on any relevant aspects of logical systems (including many-valued, fuzzy, substructural, modal and quantum logics), in particular: - Proof theory and computational complexity - Algebraic semantics and abstract algebraic logic - First-order, higher-order and modal formalisms - Applications and foundational issues - Geometric and game theoretic aspects Invited Speakers: Marta Bílková, Charles University of Prague, Czech Republic Nikolaos Galatos, University of Denver, USA Rosalie Iemhoff, Utrecht University, Netherlands (Joint with AiML) Tommaso Moraschini, Czech Academy of Sciences, Czech Republic Daniela Petrisan, Université Paris Diderot - Paris 7, France Programme Committee: Xavier Caicedo, Universidad de los Andes, Colombia Agata Ciabattoni, Vienna University of Technology, Austria Lluis Godo, IIIA-CSIC, Spain Peter Jipsen, Chapman University, USA Vincenzo Marra, University of Milan, Italy George Metcalfe, University of Bern, Switzerland (Chair) Carles Noguera, Czech Academy of Sciences, Czech Republic James Raftery, University of Pretoria, South Africa Philip Scott, University of Ottawa, Canada Kazushige Terui, Kyoto University, Japan Contributed Talks: Abstracts of contributed talks, 2-4 pages, are to be prepared using the EasyChair class style and submitted via EasyChair. The deadline for contributions is 22 April 2018, and the notification of acceptance will be sent by 25 May 2018. Further information concerning submission procedures will be made available on the conference webpage.
