Workshop / Summer School at The Laboratory for Perceptual and Cognitive Systems, Faculty of Computing, University of Latvia Formal Semantics of Concepts, Space, and Locatives August 1-2, 2017 Call for Participation & Papers Description The workshop provides an overview of formal semantics and its applications. In addition, it explores applications of formal semantic and topological tools to spatial concepts. After an advanced introduction, formal semantic modelling in spatial concepts will be discussed. The workshop will conclude with an overview of some formal representations of spatial relations in Baltic languages. Audience: graduate students and all interested academics. We also invite contributed talks covering some of the topics mentioned above. Schedule: First day: overview of formal semantics; afternoon: contributed talks Second day: applications in spatial modelling, topology; spatial relations in Baltic languages Speakers include: Michael Glanzberg (Northwestern University, USA) Jurgis Skilters (Laboratory for Perceptual and Cognitive Systems, Faculty of Computing, University of Latvia, Riga, Latvia) L?ga Zari?a (Laboratory for Perceptual and Cognitive Systems, Faculty of Computing, University of Latvia, Riga, Latvia) Egl? ?ilinskait?-?ink?nien?
