Fully-funded PhD Studentship
on
Blockchain Technologies and Applications
A fully funded PhD studentship on Blockchain Technologies and Applications
is available at the Computing Science and Mathematics division of the
University of Stirling, UK.
The studentship will cover tuition fees at Home/EU rate, and a standard
stipend at RCUK rates (from about 14,000GBP), for three years, with 1st
Oct 2017 as envisaged start date.
Applications will be considered from 15th June 2017.
The project aims to develop a suitable framework to support the
development of reliable and trustable blockchain-based decentralised
applications - which currently present interesting and challenging
research questions, including aspects of distributed consensus,
proof-of-Xs and the "crypto-economics" of incentives, security and
privacy. The project can be adapted to the latest developments in the
technology, as well as specific interests or expertise of the student.
The project will be carried out under the supervision of Dr. Andrea
Bracciali, within an international network with expertise including
verification, game theory, and cryptography. Partner companies will
provide industrial use cases of interest. The project also will benefit
from the thriving fintech Scottish sector which has a strong interest in
blockchain technologies, and could particularly contribute to the career
development of the student.
Students with a background in, or across, computer science, economics,
mathematics __non-exclusive list!__, and interested in a scientific
approach to breakthrough technologies are encouraged to apply.
