The Department of Computing Science welcomes applications for a position 
as Assistant Professor in Computer Science with focus on theoretical 
foundations of computational or computer science. The department has about 
90 employees with a background from more than 20 countries. We seek a 
person who can complement existing expertise in theoretical foundations in 
artificial intelligence, language processing, machine learning or matrix 
computations. The closing date for applications is 2017-05-29.

Work description
The purpose of the position as Assistant Professor is that the holder will 
be given the opportunity to develop his/her independence as a researcher 
and gain competence and experience that allows them to apply for other 
academic positions with higher eligibility requirements. The successful 
applicant is expected to conduct independent research, including 
involvement in the research environment at the department, supervision of 
doctoral students, participate in postgraduate courses, and actively seek 
external funding. The position is full-time research for four years but we 
also encourage participation in teaching up to a level of 20 %.
