PhD student position on "Making Scientific Inferences more objective", Tilburg (The Netherlands), Deadline: 10 Jul 2015
The Tilburg Center for Logic, Ethics and Philosophy of Science (TiLPS) at
Tilburg University is inviting applications for a four-year PhD fellowship
(full time). The PhD student will work in the European Research Council
(ERC) project "Making Scientific Inferences More Objective", directed by
Prof. Jan Sprenger. The intended starting date is September 1, 2015, but
it may be postponed upon mutual agreement.

philosophy of science and searches for ways to make statistical,
explanatory and causal inferences more objective. Candidates must hold a
MA/MSc degree or equivalent by the time of appointment. Apart from
philosophy graduates, candidates with degrees in other relevant
disciplines (e.g., mathematics, psychology) are welcome if they can
demonstrate a high level of familiarity with philosophy of science. For
