Junior Professorship in Theoretical Philosophy (non-tenured, 6y), Hamburg (Germany), Deadline: 19 Mar 2015
The Faculty of Humanities at the University of Hamburg invites
applications for a Junior Professorship in Theoretical Philosophy, to
commence on 1 October 2015. This is a non-tenured, 6-year position.
We are seeking an outstanding philosopher with research expertise in
theoretical philosophy to join our growing Philosophy Department
(http://www.philosophie.uni-hamburg.de/personen.html).
The successful applicant will have an AOS in one or more of the following
fields: philosophy of logic, metaphysics, philosophy of action, or free
will. The candidate should also be willing and able to contribute to the
departmental research focus on Grounds, Causes, and Reasons.
As well as being an internationally recognized researcher and a
high-quality teacher, the successful candidate is expected to have a
track-record of acquiring external funding and of carrying out
externally-funded research projects.
The salary is on the W1 band (~4.050? per month), and offers a healthy
pension scheme and excellent health insurance.
Applicants are expected to be proficient in German or English; applicants
who are not fluent in German are expected to gain basic competence within
a suitable time-frame after taking up the position.
