Temporary Teaching Associate

The Faculty of Philosophy is seeking to appoint a temporary Teaching
Associate in Philosophy from 1st October 2015. The limit of tenure is
twenty-one months, ending on 30th June 2017. This covers the period
resulting from Dr Tim Button?s award of a Philip Leverhulme Prize. The post
is based in central Cambridge.

The vacancy presents an excellent opportunity particularly for an early
career scholar to gain teaching experience and research support within a
prestigious philosophy department. The Faculty has immediate teaching needs
in logic and philosophy of mathematics. In particular, the successful
candidate will be expected to do the majority of the Faculty?s first year
logic lecturing.

Applicants must already either have a PhD in a relevant subject area or
expect to have submitted their PhD by the Autumn of 2015.

The person appointed will be required to give 40 lectures per academic year,
to supervise MPhil students, and to examine at both undergraduate and MPhil
level. The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to
participate in College teaching for additional remuneration.

Applicants must upload a curriculum vitae (including a list of
publications), a CHRIS 6 form (Parts I and III only), two samples of recent
work (not exceeding 20,000 words in total), and a covering letter including
details of the elements of the Faculty?s undergraduate syllabus which the
applicant would be prepared to teach.
