II INTERDISCIPLINARY SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE
"Mathematical Transgressions"

March 15-19, 2015

Pedagogical University of Cracow, Poland

First Announcement

The Organizing Committee is pleased to invite you to participate in the II
Interdisciplinary Scientific Conference MATHEMATICAL TRANSGRESSIONS. The
conference will take place in Cracow, Poland, from Sunday 15 March to
Thursday 19 March 2015.

This meeting is addressed to scientists and teachers who find
multidimensional approach towards mathematics education valuable and
necessary. We believe that in order to understand student's school
situation and provide effective school training one has to consider many
distinct points of view. For this reason educators of mathematics,
mathematicians, pedagogues, psychologists and philosophers are invited to
participate in the conference.

We invite scientists involved in research on mathematics education from
Poland and abroad, Europe, America and all over the world, to share their
experience and knowledge. The aim of the conference is to cross the
boundaries of mathematics and its education and to foster international
collaboration between scientists representing seemingly distant fields of
knowledge.

Topics covered by the Conference Sessions include:

1.	Didactics of mathematics as a scientific discipline in statu nascendi.
2.	Psychology of mathematics. Psychological aspects of learning mathematics.
3.	Philosophy of mathematics: Platonism versus problem solving view.
4.	The relationship between theory and practice in mathematics education.
5.	Underachievement Syndrome in learning mathematics.
6.	A trap of didactical contract.
7.	Teaching mathematics in 21st century: new methods, new objectives and new content.
