Junior Research Fellowships
in a Humanities or Social Science Subject
Balliol College

The College proposes to elect a non-stipendiary Junior Research Fellow in 
a Humanities or Social Science subject from 1 October 2014.  It is 
expected that the Fellowship will be for three years. Successful 
applicants should normally  at the time of taking up their Fellowship  
have funding for a minimum of three years and be in possession of a 
doctorate. The College especially encourages applications from early 
career academics. The Fellow elected will be a Junior Research Fellow as 
defined in the College Statutes. The main duty of the Fellow will be to 
undertake research, but participation in the educational activities of the 
College, including, if desired, a small amount of paid tutorial teaching, 
would be welcomed.  The research will be the successful applicants own 
work and responsibility. Single College accommodation is offered, where 
available (or, if preferred, a housing allowance of 5,252 p.a.), as well 
as free meals and an academic support allowance.
