Lecturer in Philosophy

We seek to appoint three Lecturers in Philosophy with outstanding teaching
and research ability and potential, you will be able to substantially add
to the Departments existing teaching portfolio. The successful candidates
will have expertise in any area of philosophy; in particular we encourage
applications where the specialism is within some area of the History of
Philosophy, including Ancient Philosophy and the areas of Logic and
Metaphysics.
You will be able to offer research supervision up to doctoral level in
your area of specialization; contribute teaching to undergraduate and
postgraduate taught courses; and add to the existing research strengths of
the Department.
It is expected that you have a PhD in a relevant subject area or be very
close to completion. It is desirable that you have some experience of
teaching at degree level. Effective communication skills are essential, as
are willingness and competence in carrying out the duties of the
Department in a timely and efficient manner.
This is a permanent post, open-ended contract.
Salary: 34,650 rising to 39,667 per annum inclusive of London Allowance
(Lecturer A)
40,762 rising to 48,059 per annum inclusive of London Allowance
(Lecturer B)
