Bertrand Russell Centre Visiting Researchers Stipends, Hamilton ON (Canada)
Dear colleagues,
The Department of Philosophy and the Bertrand Russell Research Centre at
McMaster University are pleased to invite young scholars with an interest
in the philosophy of Bertrand Russell and/or the History of Early
Analytical Philosophy to apply for Visiting Researcher Stipends.
Researchers in the last stages of their dissertation or having completed
their PhD no earlier than 5 years prior to the application will be
considered.
McMaster University, which houses the Bertrand Russell Archives is one of
the leading centres for research on Russell's philosophy. It is also the
current home of the Society for the Study of the History of Analytical
Philosophy (www.sshap.org)
The purpose of the stipends is to open the Russell Archives to a greater
number of scholars, widen the scope of the mandate of the BRRC and
stimulate research in history of analytical philosophy at large. Stipends
are meant to cover the expenses related to the visit: transportation, room
and board up to 1500$. Visiting scholars will be provided with office
space, opportunities to discuss and present their work and continued
access to the Archives. Visitors are invited to stay for as little as a
few days or as long as a few months.
Those interested should submit an electronic version of their cv and a
letter of intent to Dr Sandra Lapointe:
lapointe@mcmaster.ca
Please direct inquiries to the same.
Applications will be considered on an ongoing basis.
