Applications are invited for a permanent appointment as Lecturer (below 
the bar) in Philosophy, UCD School of Philosophy.

The principal motivations for this post are to strengthen the School?s 
developing interest in interdisciplinary teaching and research in 
philosophy of science and cognitive science and to further develop its 
links with the wider university and international bodies.  The person 
appointed will be expected to contribute significantly to research and 
teaching in philosophy of science and philosophy of cognitive science and 
to publish in peer reviewed academic outlets.  S/he is also expected to 
participate effectively in the academic life of the School by supervising 
PhDs, organising workshops and research seminars, applying for funding and 
contributing to the inter-disciplinary research and teaching programmes of 
the School and the university.

It is envisaged the successful candidate will commenced in January 2014; 
however earlier start dates will be considered.

*2013 (2010) Lecturer (BTB) Salary Scale: * €35,355 - €56,602 per annum

*2013 (2011) Lecturer (BTB) Salary Scale:  *€31,820 - €50,942 per annum*

* Subject to all new entrants to public sector as of 01 January 2011



Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of 
Finance guidelines

Teaching and Research Fellow in Philosophy
**Temporary 10mth post (1 Sept. 2013 ? 30 June 2014)

The School of Philosophy at University College Dublin seeks to appoint a
temporary teaching and research fellow in Philosophy.  The duration of the
appointment is 10 months, beginning in September 2013 and ending 30 June
2014.



The successful candidate will be expected to undertake undergraduate and
postgraduate teaching and to supervise MA students in philosophy of
language and philosophy of mind.   Applicants will be scholars who have
completed a PhD in philosophy and are actively engaged in research in
contemporary philosophy of language and philosophy of mind.  Furthermore,
the appointed fellow is required to participate effectively in the academic
life of the School by organising workshops and research seminars and to
contribute to the inter-disciplinary programme of Cognitive Science.

*Fixed Salary: *€31,500 for a 10mth period (non-scale)
