A Professor or an Associate Professor in Mathematics (a faculty position)
at the Graduate School of System Informatics, Kobe University (Japan) The
Graduate School of System Informatics of Kobe University invites
applications from qualified candidates for a faculty position at the rank
of either a professor or an associate professor in areas of mathematics in
connections with the research fields of the Group of Logic, Statistics and
Informatics (see the URL below). Outstanding researchers in these fields
are encouraged to apply.

Position Description
The candidate must have a doctoral degree in mathematics. He or she is
expected to have established an outstanding independent research program
and will be expected to contribute to the Graduate School's teaching
program, including lectures on probability theory and statistics, as well
as to the undergraduate general education program of Kobe University. The
candidate should have a broad education in mathematics and have interest
also in areas of mathematics including mathematics as the foundation of
informatics and applications of mathematics in computer science in
general.
The candidate must have a good knowledge of Japanese so that he or she
should be (at latest after a couple of years) in a position to give
lectures in Japanese and undertake diverse activities as a faculty member
on the basis of Japanese language.
In conformity with The Basic Law for Gender-equal Society (Law No 78 of
1999) we encourage the applications of female candidates and prefer them
in case of equivalent qualifications.

(5) Summary of past research activities and future research plan
(approximately 2 pages on A4 size paper)
(6) Summary of past teaching experiences and educational philosophy of the
candidate
(7) 1 reference letter
(8) Names and contact details (including email addresses) of two
researchers available for consultation
(9) Contact details of the applicant including affiliation, postal

Selection process Candidates will be chosen based on the application
