The aim of this meeting is to present the state of art in Descriptive Set
Theory and Model Theory. In Descriptive Set Theory, the main focus will be on
its interaction with Ergodic Theory and Functional Analysis. In Model Theory,
the focus will be on its interaction with Number Theory, Algebra and Geometry.
A preparatory workshop will be held during Dec. 27--31, 2012. The workshop will
be followed by a conference during Jan. 1--4, 2013.
The workshop and the conference will be held at the Indian Statistical
Institute, Kolkata. Most of the accepted participants will be provided
accommodation and local hospitality in the campus of the institute.
Apart from invited talks, there is a provision for short communications. A copy
of the paper to be presented should reach the convener by July 31, 2012. The
request for participation by any mathematician interested in the topics of the
workshop and the conference should also reach the convener by July 31, 2012.
Preference will be given to graduate students, post doctoral fellows and young
faculty. However, their application should be accompanied by a letter of
recommendation from their supervisor or a mathematician who is aware of their
work.

Deadline and Registration
The deadline for sending requests for participation and sending abstracts
for contributed talks is July 31. All requests should be emailed to the
convenor at dst.model@isical.ac.in. For sending requests by snail mail, please
see the address in the Contact tab.
Registration fee is Rs. 2000.00 for the workshop and Rs. 2000.00 for the
conference. The registration fee provides conference materials, lunch and
snacks only. Registration will be done only on arrival. The registration fee
for all accepted participants will be waived.
