Notre Dame IN, U.S.A.
Dear Friends and Colleagues, It is a great pleasure to announce the fist workshop of the newly formed Philosophy of Mathematics Association, Inc (PMA). The workshop will be held Friday, October 26th on the Notre Dame campus. Invited speakers and their themes are: Steve Awodey (Carnegie Mellon U): "Homotopy Type Theory and Univalent Foundations" Danielle Macbeth: "The Puzzle of Logic in Relation to Mathematics" Jeremy Heis (U of California-Irvine): "Why did geometers stop using diagrams?" Mrs. Harriet Baldwin (baldwin.1@nd.edu) will be the workshop manager. Please contact her with any questions you may have concerning rooms, meals, etc.. She has booked a block of rooms for the MWPMW 13 in conjunction with which the PMA workshop will be meeting. Since there are other conferences going on the same weekend, demand for rooms may be high and it would thus be a good idea to reserve a room with Harriet as soon as possible. Please share this announcement with others you think might be interested. I hope you've had a good summer, and I look forward to seeing you at the PMA workshop (and MWPMW 13) in October. On behalf of the Board and officers of the PMA, I am Yours truly, Mic Detlefsen President, PMA Vice-President: Colin McLarty Treasurer: Dan Isaacson Board of the PMA Patricia Blanchette Jessica Carter Mic Detlefsen (ex officio) Solomon Feferman Dan Isaacson (ex officio) Elaine Landry Mathieu Marion Colin McLarty (ex officio) Erich Reck Greg Restall
