G. Nadkarni Koushik Pal B. V. Rao H. Sarbadhikari S. M. Srivastava (Convenor) Aim and Scope: The aim of this meeting is to present the state of art in Descriptive Set Theory and Model Theory. In Descriptive Set Theory, focus will be on its interaction with Ergodic Theory and Functional Analysis. In Model Theory, focus will be on its interaction with Number Theory, Algebra and Geometry. Programme: A preparatory workshop will be held during Dec. 27-31, 2012. The workshop will be followed by a conference during Jan. 1-4, 2013. Abstracts of contributed talks and request for participation by any mathematician interested in the topics of the workshop and the conference should be received before the deadline of July 31, 2012 by the convenor: S. Preference will be given to graduate students, post doctoral fellows and young faculty. However, their application should be accompanied by a letter of recommendation from their supervisor or a mathematician who is aware of their work. Most of the accepted participants will be provided accommodation and local hospitality in the campus of the institute. The registration fee for all accepted participants will be waived.
