PhD student position in algorithms (1+4 years), Paderborn (Germany)
In the faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics
of the University of Paderborn, the Heinz Nixdorf Institute is looking for
a new member of the scientific staff within the research group ?Algorithms

The position is to be filled as soon as possible and is for a fixed term
of one year. An extension up to four years is possible. Regular working
hours are 40 hours a week. The option of undertaking a PhD is provided and
will be explicitly supported.
Duties and responsibilities: Design and analysis of local algorithms for
online motion planning problems like the formation of swarms of mobile

Profile: A qualified candidate should be interested in applied
interdisciplinary research and must have a Master?s or equivalent degree
in Computer Science or Mathematics with a focus in a field of Theoretical
Computer Science such as Algorithmic Geometry, Online Algorithms or
Distributed Algorithms.
