Logic and Mathematics 2011, Urbana-Champaign IL (U.S.A.), 3-4 Sep 2011 (student grants)

A conference entitled LOGIC AND MATHEMATICS 2011 will be held
September 3-4, 2011, at the Mathematics Department, University of
Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The organizers are Lou van den Dries and
Slawomir Solecki.
This meeting, the fifth in the series, will honor Ward Henson's
retirement.

The talks will start on Saturday (the 3rd) at 9:30; the meeting will
end around noon on Sunday (the 4th).

TRAVEL SUPPORT
To be considered for a travel award, please (A) send a letter of
application, and (B) (for students) ask your thesis supervisor to send
a brief recommendation letter.
The application letter should be brief (one page) and should include:
1. your name;
2. your home institution and current position;
3. your thesis supervisor's name;
4. a one-paragraph description of your studies and your research
accomplishments and plans;
5. estimate of the travel expenses you will incur;
6. your citizenship and visa status;
7. (voluntary) indication of your gender and minority status.
Only very modest awards will be possible, partially covering travel costs
and perhaps some of the living expenses during the meeting. Priority
in funding will be given to students and recent PhDs, and then to
researchers who do not have their own sources of funding for such a
trip. Women and members of minority groups are strongly encouraged to
apply.
This program of travel awards is supported by a grant from the US
National Science Foundation. Air travel paid for using awards in this
program must be on a US airline.
