The Mathematics Department at the University of North Texas invites
applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in dynamical systems.
Strong applications in logic also will be considered. The expected
appointment is to begin in Fall 2011.
The successful candidate must have an earned PhD degree in mathematics or
a related discipline awarded before August 2011, evidence of a strong
commitment to undergraduate and graduate education with demonstrated
effectiveness in mathematics instruction, and evidence of making a
significant contribution in the areas of either dynamical systems and
ergodic theory, or logic and foundations. Preference will be given to
applicants with research interests consonant with those of current
department faculty.
UNT is the largest and most comprehensive university in the north Texas
region with 97 bachelor's, 101 master??s, and 48 doctoral degree programs.
It is the fourth largest university in Texas with over 36,000 students.
UNT is located in Denton in the vibrant and rapidly expanding Dallas-Fort
Worth metropolitan area. The Department of Mathematics has 25
tenured/tenure-track faculty, 56 full-time graduate students, and offers
