Full-time post, fixed term for 12 months

Applications are invited for a researcher position to work on an project 
funded by the British Academy on 'Cognitive Models of Problem Gambling: 
Testing the Implicit-Learning Hypothesis'. This ambitious project aims to 
extend the CHREST (http://chrest.info) computational model so that it will 
simulate key phenomena in problem gambling. Problem gambling is gambling 
behaviour that produces negative consequences for the gambler, their 
family or the community. In spite of substantial empirical research, there 
are currently no detailed models of problem gambling.

The successful candidate will work under the direction of Prof F Gobet 
(fernand.gobet@brunel.ac.uk). S/he will have good knowledge of cognitive 
or clinical psychology, computer modelling, and programming. Experience in 
at least one of Java, C++, Lisp and/or Scheme is required. (CHREST is 
programmed in Lisp and Java). Ideally, the candidate should have 
post-doctoral experience in one or several cognitive-modelling project(s).
