W3-Professorship of Theoretical Computer Science
The Department of Computer Science at the School of Engineering of
the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg offers a faculty position
(W3-Professorship) in
Theoretical Computer Science.
The successful candidate will represent the discipline of
Theoretical Computer Science in teaching and research.
Preferably, the main focus should include one of the areas
- Deduction,
- Program Verification and Synthesis,
- Algorithmic Game Theory and Learning Theory.
Willingness to participate in the basic education in Computer Science
and in other related programs of study is assumed.
Requirements for the appointment include a university degree, teaching
ability, a doctoral degree (Ph. D. or equivalent) and additional
accomplishments in research demonstrated by, e.g., a Habilitation or
an equivalent postdoctoral qualification.
Applicants should not be older than 52 years at the time of
appointment. Exceptions are possible, but depend on the consent of the
Bavarian Ministry of Science, Research and Art and the Bavarian
Ministry of Finances (article 10, paragraph 3, sentence 2 BayHSchPG).
