We are pleased to announce MAMLS@Harvard, a conference on mathematical logic
that will take place at Harvard University on the weekend of May 9 and 10,
2009. The broad theme of the meeting is logic and its intersections with other
branches of mathematics. There will also be special sessions to showcase the
work of junior logicians working in the Boston area.

The event is free and open to all. There is no formal registration, but if
you do plan to attend, please send an email to Rehana Patel at
patel@math.harvard.edu. This will help us make local arrangements.

Speakers (partial list):

Brooke Andersen, Cameron Freer, Akihiro Kanamori, Maryanthe Malliaris, Mia
Minnes, Andreea Nicoara, Pedro Poitevin, Bjorn Poonen, Benjamin Rossman,
Gerald Sacks, Maya Saran.

Sponsors:

The conference is sponsored by the National Science Foundation through the
Mid-Atlantic Mathematical Logic Seminar (MAMLS) and by the Harvard
University Mathematics department.

Support:

It is the policy of MAMLS to reimburse all out-of-town student
participants at its conferences a flat amount of $50 for expenses. This
can be arranged at the meeting without prior application.

Additional support is available for students and junior researchers coming
from outside the Boston area. Please send individual requests to Rehana
Patel, patel@math.harvard.edu, including your name, affiliation and an
estimate of expenses. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis.
Women and members of other groups traditionally under-represented in
mathematics are especially encouraged to apply.

Accommodation:

We have reserved a block of rooms for conference participants at the
Sheraton Commander Hotel, just a few minutes walk from the Harvard Science
Center. The conference rate for rooms is $179 per night plus taxes.
Parking is available at a special rate of $15 per day. These rates are
guaranteed until April 24, 2009, after which they will be subject to room
availability. To make a reservation, please go to
