*************************************************************************** ** CALL FOR PARTICIPATION 4th Conference on Logic, Computability and Randomness Marseille, France June 30 - July 3, 2009 http://www.lif.univ-mrs.fr/lce/ *************************************************************************** ** The theme of the conference will be algorithmic randomness (Kolmogorov complexity) and its connections to: - Mathematical logic - Classical computability theory and degrees - Computable analysis (measures, martingales, Hausdorff dimension, etc.) - Dynamical systems - Computational complexity and pseudo-randomness - Combinatorics - ..... This meeting will be in the spirit of the earlier conferences held in Argen tina in 2004 and 2007, and in China in 2008. However, this time we are using a modified Dagstuhl model, where most of the talks will be given by invited speakers. We expect to gather this way 40 to 50 leading researchers in the area of algorithmic randomness and related topics in computablity and complexity . Additionally, we are saving a limited number of spots (about 10 to 15) to a llow participation of people who were not originally invited. If you wish to participate in this conference, please send an e-mail to: lce@lif.univ-mrs.fr Please also let us know if you wish to give a talk at the meeting. In this case, you will have to submit an abstract by March 1, 2009. Notification of acceptance or rejection will be sent by April 1, 2009. This meeting is sponsored by the Association for Symbolic Logic. Student members of the ASL can apply for travel grants to attend this meeting. Additionally, we have a very limited amount of funding available to support the local expenses of some participants. Please let us know if you wish to appl y for such funding.
