Call For Papers ---------------- The Third Annual Workshop on Algorithms and Computation (WALCOM 2009) February 18-20, 2009, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, India Scope ----- The third International Workshop on Algorithms and Computation (WALCOM 2009) will take place in Kolkata, India, during February 18-20, 2009. The workshop would be hosted by Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, India. The workshop is intended to provide a forum for researchers working in algorithms and theory of computation. Papers presenting original research in the areas of design and analysis of algorithms, computational geometry, graph drawing and graph algorithms are sought. The topics include but are not limited to: algorithms and data structures approximation algorithms combinatorial algorithms computational biology computational geometry experimental algorithm methodologies graph drawing and graph algorithms parallel and distributed algorithms quantum computing randomized algorithms The conference proceedings will be published by Springer-Verlag in its Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series. Selected papers from the conference will be invited for publication in Theoretical Computer Science (Elsevier), and will be published as part of a regular issue as per the norms of the review process of the journal. Submissions ------------ Papers reporting original research unpublished elsewhere, as well as surveys of important results are welcome. Authors should submit an extended abstract or a paper not exceeding 12 single-spaced pages on A4 (or US letter) paper, including references, figures, title, authors, affiliations, e-mail addresses, and a short (one paragraph) abstract. Use reasonable margins and at least 10-point font. Please use the LaTeX style file supplied by Springer Verlag for Lecture Notes in Computer Scienc e (see http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html). Final proceedings papers must be camera-ready in this format.
