9-11 December 2008
Bangalore, India
This is just to remind you that the submission deadline for FSTTCS 2008 is July 7. FSTTCS (Foundations of Software Technology and Theoretical Computer Science) is an annual international conference held in India. This year, it will be held in Bangalore, India, from December 9 to December 11, 2008. In the more than 25 years of existence, it has had a long tradition of excellent invited talks and high quality submissions. As an added attraction, this year's conference is colocated with APLAS 2008 (Sixth Asian Symposium on Programming Languages and Systems). In a new initiative towards an open system, FSTTCS is moving away from LNCS. The proceedings will take the form of a free, open, electronic archive with access to all. In addition to being permanently archived on ArXiV and other online servers, the proceedings of the Conference will be hosted on the Dagstuhl Research Online Publication Server (DROPS), with an ISBN number provided by DROPS. If you are in favour of open access for scientific publications, this is an opportunity to contribute to the movement. If you are nervous about open access, you can be reassured by the experience of STACS 2008, whose open access proceedings have been indexed by all the major scientific indices. Please do consider submitting a paper to the conference and encourage your colleagues to do so as well. The call for papers with full details is available at http://www.fsttcs.org/fsttcs2008-cfp.pdf Regards, Suresh (PC member, FSTTCS 2008) S P Suresh Associate Professor Chennai Mathematical Institute Plot H1, SIPCOT IT Park Siruseri - 603 103 INDIA
