The University of Gttingen together with the non-university research
institutions of the Gttingen Research Campus invites applications for

Tenure-Track Professorships
to build up
Independent Research Groups

The positions will be at the W1 salary level and have a reduced teaching
responsibility, six years of funding to build up an Independent Research
Group, and a tenure option (W2 or W3) depending on successful review after 3
and 6 years.

Up to 5 Tenure-Track Professorships to head a so-called Free-Floater
Research Group are offered. The Free-Floater Research Groups will be
established to support competitive and innovative research ideas in all
areas of the University's research fields. Proposals for independent
Free-Floater Research Groups can be made without constraints on their
topics.

The allocation of the Free-Floater Research Groups within the University
will depend on the interests and research profile of the group leaders and
is open for joint appointments together with non-university research
institutions of the Gttingen Research Campus. Successful applicants for a
Free-Floater Research Group must be able to make a significant contribution
to the strategic development of the University and its faculties.

external funding and awards, a list of publications, the applicant's three
most significant articles, a brief research plan outlining the envisaged
integration into the University and possible joint collaborations with
non-university research institutions of the Gttingen Research Campus, as
well as name and address for two references.

The selection procedure will include a symposium to be held in December 2007
or January 2008.
