Fixed-Term Lecturer in Philosophy (Ref.: ATR 710)

Academic Grade 2: 27,466 to 32,796 per annum
Academic Grade 3: 34,813 to 40,335 per annum

The School of Philosophy (rated 5 in RAE 2001) is seeking a full time
fixed-term Lecturer at Academic Grade 2 or 3 (Lecturer Grade A or B), for a
period of twenty three months from 1st September 2007. The area of research
specialism is open, but candidates should have teaching strengths in one or
more of the following areas: Epistemology, Metaphysics, Twentieth Century
and Contemporary Analytic Philosophy, History of Modern Philosophy from
Descartes to Hume. This appointment will be the School's seventh new
appointment since 2001 and will contribute to a powerful and strategically
targeted RAE submission for 2008.

You will have a record of first rate publications suited to your career
stage and a promising future research profile, including potential for
research leadership and for securing external funding for individual or
group projects. You will be able and willing to deliver lively teaching at
undergraduate and postgraduate levels, to supervise graduate students and to
undertake an equitable load of administrative tasks.
