* CALL FOR PARTICIPATION * BAD 2007 Bristol Algorithms Day Bristol University, Bristol, UK 19-20 February 2007 We are pleased to announce the first Bristol Algorithms Day (BAD'07) (in the spirit of the recent successes of LAD (Liverpool) and LSD (London Stringology)). Thanks to the generous support of the EPSRC, funding is also available for accommodation in Bristol and travel costs within the UK, especially for Phd student/postdoc participants. This workshop is funded by ``Bridging the Gaps", an EPSRC-funded initiative to set up an environment that nurtures interdisciplinary working, with the aim of developing new collaborative research programmes at the interface between mathematical sciences, information and computing technology and engineering. The aim is to gather together the key researchers in algorithmics and related fields and to foster new collaborations. The workshop will take place over two days (with delegates arriving the evening before) and will consist of a series of sessions (3 per day). Each talk will last 30 minutes (including questions). The dates are 19 -20th February 2007 (with participants arriving on the afternoon/evening of Sunday 18th February). Please let us know if you are interested in participating in BAD'07 and if you require any financial support for your visit. We would be very grateful if you could reply as soon as possible. Bristol International airport is about 20 minutes by bus/taxi from the University and has flights to most locations in Europe and also directly to New York. Alternatively, London Heathrow is under two hours away by direct bus or train via London. The website, which is being regularly updated, is at http://www.cs.bris.ac.uk/~clifford/bad07.html . Many thanks for your time, Raphael
