KNAW Master Class New perspectives on Games and Interaction Amsterdam, The Netherlands February 8, 2007 http://www.illc.uva.nl/KNAW-AC/MasterClass/ The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) in collaboration with the Institute for Logic, Language and Computation (ILLC) is organizing a Master Class on "New perspectives on Games and Interaction". It will be held in the Trippenhuis in Amsterdam on February 8th, 2007. This Master Class will feature three tutorials by Alexandru Baltag (Oxford), Giacomo Bonanno (UC Davis), and Wolfgang Thomas (Aachen). The three tutorial speakers will cover the following topics: Baltag-- Dynamic Logics for Communication: a study of information-updating and belief-changing actions Bonanno-- A brief survey of the literature on the epistemic foundations of game theory Thomas-- Automata Theoretic Foundations of Infinite Games We are inviting graduate students (PhD students and MSc/MA students) with a background in logic, mathematics, economics, computer science, artificial intelligence, linguistics, or philosophy and a strong interest in games to register for this Master Class. The tutors will offer reading material on the webpage of the Master Class. It is expected that participants prepare by reading this material before the class; at the class, there will be written exercises that have to be handed in two weeks after the class. The class is worth 1.5 ECTS credit points. Students of the Universiteit van Amsterdam will be regularly credited; other students will receive an official transcript from the ILLC. There will be a registration page for this Master Class to be found on this webpage.
