The PhD Program in Philosophy at the Graduate Center of the City
University of New York is pleased to announce the establishment of the
Kripke Center in September 2007.
The aim of the Kripke Center will be to promote the study of the
philosophy of Distinguished Professor Saul Kripke. Kripke is a winner of
the Schock Prize in Philosophy and Logic, and a living legend in
philosophy of language, logic and mathematics. Yet a very high proportion
of his work remains unpublished. The Center will archive and edit this
material and assist Kripke in bringing it to publication.
An international search will be conducted in fall 2006 for a distinguished
academic director of the Research Center, who will administer the
archives, and organize conferences and seminars devoted to Kripke's work.
Beginning September 2007, the Center will offer competitive fellowships to
students accepted into the PhD Program in Philosophy and working in areas
related to Kripke's contributions to philosophy of language, logic,
mathematics and linguistics. These five-year fellowships will carry an
annual stipend of $20,000 plus full tuition.
The establishment of the Kripke Research Center is made possible by
generous founding contributions by Rabbi Meyer Kripke and the City
University of New York.
