== Topics of Interest ==

The main conference covers a broad spectrum of topics reflecting current trends in Artificial Intelligence. Several specific topics will also be addressed through dedicated thematic workshops held alongside the main conference. Workshops will be announced in separate calls, and we anticipate strong participation from research communities, consistent with the success of previous AIxIA editions.

The main track of the AIxIA 2026 conference welcomes submissions covering all areas of AI, including (but not limited to):

- machine learning,
- language models,
- search and planning,
- knowledge representation, reasoning, and argumentation
- constraint satisfaction and optimization,
- natural language processing,
- robotics and perception,
- autonomous agents and multi-agent systems,
- ethical and cultural issues in AI.

We welcome all kinds of high-quality contributions, including theoretical, engineering, and applied papers. We also encourage submissions on AI techniques in both established and emerging application domains, such as

- (cyber)security,
- sustainability,
- aging and health care,
- education,
- cultural heritage,
- manufacturing,
- transportation,
- commerce and recommendation systems.

Papers describing AI approaches and applications that address societal challenges are particularly welcome. This includes solutions for managing public health crises, as well as popular community topics, such as identifying and reducing biases and ethical issues in AI.

Besides regular papers presenting results not already published, we also welcome short "discussion papers" containing:

- descriptions of results recently published or accepted for presentation
  in premi?re international conferences and journals related to the AI field;
- position papers discussing potentially controversial topics in AI or personal
  points of view about specific topics in AI.

Discussion papers offer authors an opportunity to share their recent findings with the AI community and to encourage discussion among AIxIA 2026 attendees and potential collaborators.

At least one author of each accepted paper is required to register and attend the conference to present the work.

== Proceedings of Regular Papers ==

Accepted regular papers will be included in the conference proceedings and published by Springer Verlag in the Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence (LNAI) series.

Authors of selected regular papers accepted to the main track will be invited to submit an extended version for publication in "Intelligenza Artificiale", the International Journal of the Italian Association for Artificial Intelligence, published by IOS Press and indexed by Thomson Reuters' "Emerging Sources Citation Index" and Elsevier Scopus.
