Project Description
The New Foundations for Intensionality (GOOD INTENSIONS) project, based at the Department of Philosophy and the Institute for Logic, Language and Computation (ILLC) at the University of Amsterdam, is looking to fill two PhD positions. One position focuses on property talk; the other on modal talk.
GOOD INTENSIONS is funded by a European Research Council (ERC) Advanced Grant and led by Dr. Luca Incurvati. It aims to develop new philosophical, semantical and logical foundations for intensional notions.
Tasks
• Conduct research in philosophical logic
• Participate in project activities and meetings
• Complete a PhD thesis (at least four articles)
• Collaborate with team members
• Present research at conferences
• Participate in training programmes
• Take courses and attend summer schools
• Assist with project-related administrative tasks
• Disseminate research results
Requirements
• Master’s degree in philosophy, logic, or related field
• Excellent academic potential
• Strong formal skills
• Strong motivation for research
• Ability to work in a team
• Good command of English
Offer
Temporary contract (48 months), full-time position (38 hours/week). Salary ranges from €3,059 to €3,881 depending on year. Includes benefits and research funding.
