LOFT 14: Logic & the Foundations of Game & Decision Theory

20-22 Jul 2022
Groningen, The Netherlands

2nd Call for Papers
Fourteenth Conference on Logic and the Foundations of Game and Decision Theory
University of Groningen, The Netherlands, July 20-22, 2022

Web page: http://loft2020.ai.rug.nl/ <http://loft2020.ai.rug.nl/>

AIMS OF THE CONFERENCE This is the 14th in a series of bi-annual
conferences on the applications of logical methods to foundational issues
in the theory of individual and interactive decision-making. Preference is
given to papers which bring together the work and problems of several
fields, such as game and decision theory, logic, computer science and
artificial intelligence, philosophy, cognitive psychology, mathematics and
mind sciences.

The previous thirteen conferences took place in Marseille (France),
January 1994,Torino (Italy), December 1996, December 1998, July 2000 and
July 2002, Leipzig (Germany), July 2004, Liverpool (UK), July 2006,
Amsterdam (The Netherlands), July 2008, Toulouse (France), July 2010,
Sevilla (Spain), 2012, Bergen (Norway), 2014, Maastricht (The Netherlands)
2016, Milano (Italy) 2018.

The 2020 edition was postponed due to the pandemic. The 2022 edition will
ideally take place as a live event, or as an online or hybrid one if the
circumstances so demand.

Among the topics of particular relevance are:
(*) Modal logics for games and protocols: epistemic and deontic logic, multi-agent logic, temporal logic, dynamic logic, probabilistic and multivalued logic, logic of belief revision.
(*) Foundations of game and decision theory: epistemic foundations of solution concepts, information processing and communication in games, belief formation and revision in games.
(*) Learning and information-processing models: economic aspects of information processing, learning in game-theoretic contexts, inductive learning and inductive decision making.
(*) Bounded rationality approaches to game and decision theory.

SUBMISSION INFORMATION The three-day conference will give opportunity for paper presentations and discussions. Potential contributors should submit an extended abstract of approximately 5 to at most 10 pages in PDF format through https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=loft-14 <https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=loft-14> (no formatting requirements). Note that the 10-page limit (excluding references and appendix) is a HARD CONSTRAINT: submissions exceeding 10 pages will NOT be considered. The deadline for submission is March 1, 2020, and authors will be notified of acceptance decisions by April 15, 2020. Papers that have appeared in print, or are likely to appear in print before the conference, should not be submitted for presentation at LOFT. Should such a paper be submitted, it will not be included in the program.
