The position is intended for further scientific qualification with the aim of 
obtaining a doctoral degree. The fixed-term contract is  for scientific 
qualification according to § 2 Abs. 1 WissZeitVG 
(Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz). Accordingly, only applicants who still have 
qualification periods available according to § 2 para. 1 WissZeitVG can be 
considered. The position is for three years, with a possible extension of 
additional two years.

Job description
---------------
The position is within the research group "Databases" of Prof. Sebastian 
Maneth, whose research topics include

-- automata theory and its applications
-- compression of heterogeneous data (JSON, XML, RDF, etc.)
-- databases for heterogeneous data
-- (recently) machine learning for the analysis of eye tracking data.

The position includes teaching 4 SWS (2 tutorials per semester). The employee 
is expected to support the group in teaching courses and to conduct research on 
some of the above topics in collaboration with other group members.

Requirements
------------
Prerequisite is a completed university degree in computer science or a 
comparable qualification (e.g. a mathematics degree). Good basic knowledge in 
at least one subject area relevant to the research group is required.
