At the Department of Philosophy, chair of Theoretical Philosophy, at
the University of Greifswald?s Faculty of Arts and Humanities, there
is a position which is expected to be available from 01/10/2020,
subject to budgetary regulations, for a full-time

POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER.

The fixed-term contract is for a period of three years. Payment will
be made according to pay group 13 TV-L Wissenschaft if the personal
and pay group qualifications are met. The position on offer is
suitable for part-time employment.

Job Description:
The successful candidate will be expected to perform academic research
and teaching services in the field of theoretical philosophy (expected
teaching load of 6 hours of classes per week). Furthermore, s/he will
be expected to perform independent academic research in the field of
metaphysics, epistemology, or the philosophy of science. The use of
formal methods in this research is required. The future holder of the
position will also be expected to participate in the chair?s
research colloquium.

The position serves to qualify in the second qualification phase. It
is assigned tasks that are conducive to the preparation of a
habilitation or comparable qualification.

Job Specification:
* University degree (master?s) and doctorate in philosophy,
preferably theoretical philosophy
* Publications in international journals
* Expertise in the use of formal research methods
* Research plan for the next three years
* Excellent knowledge of both written and spoken English (the ability
to teach in German is a plus)
* Experience in university teaching
