PhD position in Web Information Retrieval in Amsterdam

    	Job profile
   	The Information and Language Processing Systems group of the 
Informatics Institute at the Universiteit van Amsterdam has an opening for 
a fully funded PhD position. This position which is funded by a grant from 
the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO)  is focused on 
research and development in the area of web mining and retrieval. Specific 
areas of interest are mining vaguely and/or semi-structured web 
information, the retrieval of such information, and the design and 
development of appropriate evaluation methods and test collections.

Appointment The appointment will be for a period of three years and should 
lead to a dissertation. The salary will be in accordance with the 
university regulations for academic personnel, and will range from EUR 
1,813 up to a maximum of EUR 2,283 gross per month. The starting date for 
this position can be as early as 1 May 2005.
