First Graduate Conference on Philosophy of Natural Science

Keynote Speaker: Philip Kitcher (Columbia University)

The Centre for Philosophy of Natural and Social Science (CPNSS) and
the Department of Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Method at the LSE
invite papers by graduate students in any area of philosophy of
natural science (including general philosophy of science) for its
first annual graduate conference.

Submission should include a one-page abstract (500 words), and a
separate title page listing the author's name, address, phone number
and e-mail address. There should be no identifying information in the
body of the abstract. Reviewing will be blind.

The material should be sent in as an attachment to an e-mail (in
either Word or RTF format) to the following e-mail address:
phil_confs_2005@lse.ac.uk <mailto:phil_confs_2005@lse.ac.uk>. The
deadline for submission is 1st March 2005. Notifications of
acceptance will be sent by 15th March 2005. Accepted papers are
expected by 30th April 2005, so that they can be posted on the
conference website in advance of the Conference.

Papers for presentation should not exceed 5000 words (thirty minutes
presentation time). All papers will be commented on by a member of
the CPNSS or a member of the Philosophy Department at the LSE.

The conference is free and open to all. However, all participants are
asked to register by sending an email to phil_confs_2005@lse.ac.u
