European Model Theory Network: MODNET (PhD student and PostDoc positions)

Marie Curie Research Training Network in
Model Theory and Applications

This project is designed to promote training and research in Model Theory,
a part of mathematical logic dealing with abstract structures, and having
strong connections and applications to other areas of mathematics
(Diophantine geometry, Analytic geometry...). It unites 14 European teams,
centered at the Universities of East Anglia, Paris 7, Leeds, Lyon, Oxford,
Freiburg, Mons, Manchester, Haifa, Wroclaw, Camerino, Barcelona, Ankara
and Berlin.

In the period January 2005 - December 2008 funding is available for:

    * six PhD studentships each of 3 years duration (Early Stage 
      Researchers)
    * 24 months of short 'visiting' PhD studentships (Early Stage 
      Researchers)
    * a total of 16 years of postdoctoral positions (Experienced 
      Researchers)

Positions available to start in 2005:

    * Six 3-year PhD studentships  (Early Stage Researchers) starting on 1 
      October 2005 at the following Universities:

          o University of East-Anglia (UK), Paris 7 (France), Oxford (UK),
            Freiburg (Germany), Barcelona (Spain), Humboldt University in 
            Berlin (Germany).

Applications will be considered from 1 January 2005 until all positions 
have been filled.

    * Three one year postdoctoral positions (Experienced Researchers) 
      starting on 1 July 2005 at the following Universities:
          o Paris 7 (France), Oxford (UK), Camerino (Italy).

The closing date for applications is 11 February 2005.
