First Announcement and Call for Papers

The main goal of the first SQU Workshop on Topology and its Applications
is to bring together Topologists and Mathematicians working in related
areas in different centres around the Gulf and to provide a forum for
exchange of ideas in different areas of Topology and its Applications.

The workshop will be held at Sultan Qaboos University, Muscat, Oman for
the period 29 December 2004 - 1 January 2005.

The program consists of: A series of lectures by Prof. Paul Gartside
(University of Pittsburgh) on Polish Groups; A short course on Domain
Theory, Computational Geometry and Differential Calculus by Prof. Abbas
Edalat (Imperial College of London); Invited speakers who will give 40
minutes talks; Contributed talks in Topology and its Applications; Social
and cultural activities.

Topologists and Mathematicians working in related areas are welcome to
submit abstract of contributed papers by December 1, 2004 at
