THE 19TH WORKSHOP ON THE SEMANTICS AND PRAGMATICS OF DIALOGUE


24-26th August 2015


Gothenburg


goDIAL will be the 19th edition of the SemDial workshop series, which aims to 
bring together researchers working on the semantics and pragmatics of dialogue 
in fields such as formal semantics and pragmatics, computational linguistics, 
artificial intelligence, philosophy, psychology, and neuroscience. In 2015 the 
workshop will be hosted by the Department of Philosophy, Linguistics and Theory 
of Science, University of Gothenburg, Sweden.


We invite papers on all topics related to the semantics and pragmatics of 
dialogue, including, but not limited to:


- semantic/pragmatic interpretation in dialogue

- common ground/mutual belief

- the dynamics of agents' information states in dialogue

- goals, intentions and commitments in communication

- turn-taking and interaction control

- dialogue and discourse structure

- categorisation of dialogue phenomena in corpora

- experimental studies of dialogue

- child-adult interaction

- language learning and coordination through dialogue

- multimodal dialogue

- gesture, gaze, and intonational meaning in communication

- interpretation and reasoning in spoken dialogue systems

- dialogue management

- designing and evaluating dialogue systems

Authors should submit an *anonymous* paper of at most 8 pages of content (up to 
2 additional pages are allowed for references).


Formatting instructions and the URL of the submission site will be available on 
the goDIAL website.


Submissions due: 13th May 2015

Notification: 17th June 2015


Final version due: 15th July 2015


goDIAL: 24-26 August 2015


There will be a later call for 2-page abstracts describing system 
demonstrations and/or ongoing projects relevant to the topics of the workshop, 
with submission deadline 3rd June.
