The program covers all areas of strength of the Faculty, which include:
epistemology, logic, philosophy of science, argumentation, philosophy of
mind; ethics; political, social and cultural philosophy; history of
philosophy, especially Medieval, Renaissance and Early Modern. For a list
of current faculty, see here:

The program has two very attractive features from a practical point of
view:

Partial Funding as a TA. All students are given the opportunity to act as
Teaching Assistants (TA) at the undergraduate courses offered by the
Faculty, and receive a remuneration of around EUR 400 per month for their
work as TA?s. This means that all students in the program are offered
partial funding.

Fully Funded PhD positions. Every year, the three best students graduating
from the program are offered fully funded PhD positions at the Faculty for
a period of three years. Hence, the program offers ideal conditions for
those wishing to pursue a research career in philosophy.

The Faculty of Philosophy in Groningen is consistently rated as the best
in the Netherlands both for research and for teaching, and is widely
regarded as one of the main centers for analytic philosophy in Continental
Europe. It offers a lively, international environment in one of the most
pleasant university towns of Northern Europe. See the promotional video
