31st IEEE INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON MULTIPLE-VALUED
LOGIC
(ISMVL 2001)
MAY 22 - 24, 2001, WARSAW, POLAND
The Multiple-Valued Logic Technical Committee of the IEEE Computer Society
will hold its
31st annual symposium on May 22-24, 2001, in Warsaw, the capital of Poland.
The symposium is
sponsored by the IEEE Computer Society and the Institute of Computer Science
of the Polish Academy of Sciences .
C o n f e r e n c e V e n u e
The Conference will take place in the conference rooms of Staszic Palace -
an XIX century classical style building belonging to the Polish Academy of
Sciences and located in the centre of Warsaw on the Royal Route crossing
the town from north to south along the Vistula river. The Copernicus
monument in front of the Palace is a characteristic landmark in Warsaw.

A c c o m m o d a t i o n
ISMVL 2001 participants will be accommodated in three hotels of
different categories, all of them within walking distance from the
conference venue (Palac Staszica).
Warsaw hotels are overcrowded in May so you should indicate your
choice till April 20. After that date the hotels cancel our initial booking
and we cannot guarantee that any rooms will be available.
Please indicate your accommodation preferences when completing the
Registration Form. The requests will be honoured in the order of reception.
If your choice is not available, we will do our best to find a comparable
accommodation.

The accommodation charges are paid directly to the hotel by each
participant. The payment can be made by credit card or in cash. The prices
are for one room (with bath or shower) per night. All price rates include

C a n c e l l a t i o n
Cancellations received later than April 30 will be charged 100 USD handling
fee. No cancellation will be accepted after May 10.

Registration desk will be located in Palac Staszica and will operate at the
times given below:
Monday, May 21, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Tuesday, May 22, from 8.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
P o l i s h c u r r e n c y
The Polish currency units are ZLOTY (PLN) and GROSZ (1 grosz = 1/100 zloty).
M o n e y e x c h a n g e
Nowadays, the main credit cards, especially Visa, are accepted at many
retail outlets in Poland. However, you should still have some stock of cash
available e.g. for taxies and some places which do not accept cards.
I n s u r a n c e
The organisers cannot be held liable to conference participants for injury,
damage or loss of their personal property. It is suggested that
participants make their own insurance arrangements.
V i s a s
Citizens of the USA and most European countries do not need any visa.
Please check with your local Polish consulate if you need a visa.
T r a n s p o r t a t i o n
Warsaw can be easily reached from all parts of the world. There are several
direct air connections from many cities in Europe, USA and elsewhere. It
takes some 20 minutes by taxi to get from the airport to the city centre.
You should avoid accepting the services of the taxi drivers accosting
passengers in the arrival hall - they charge exorbitant rates. Instead, use
the taxis waiting at the taxi stand outside, or order a taxi by phone
calling 9644 or 9622 or 9624 or 913 etc. The drive from the airport to the
centre should cost about 30 zloties (about 8 USD). If it costs more than 40
zloties (please, ask about the price in advance) do not take it - you will
be overcharged (we would like to remind you that Polish currency is
zloties, not dollars).
ATTENTION: Do not use the regular bus service 175 from the airport,
since groups of pickpockets regularly operate there.
C l i m a t e
It is usually sunny and warm in July in Poland, with average temperatures
ranging from 18C - 25C.
