http://www.imub.ub.es/hocard11/
Barcelone (Spain), 1-8 September 2011

The goal of this meeting is to offer background on Set Theory, especially
large cardinals, and discuss a number of situations in Abelian Group
Theory, Category Theory and Algebraic Topology where set-theoretical
methods may play a crucial role for the solution of certain open problems.

The courses are aimed at a mixed audience of graduate students, recent
doctors, and also specialists in some focus area of the meeting who wish
to know more about the other areas.

Lectures will start on Thursday, September 1, at 15.00 and will end
September 6 in the evening. A two-day workshop will follow, starting on
Wednesday, September 7, at 9.30 and ending September 8 in the evening.

The course is promoted and sponsored by the Spanish Topology Network as a
part of its annual program. The event is also supported by Ingenio
