W3 Professorship in Logic and Philosophy of Language, Jena (Germany), Deadline: 30 June 2011

The Faculty of Philosophy at the Friedrich-Schiller University Jena 
invites applications for the following position:

- Professor of Philosophy (W3) with a focus on Logic and Philosophy of Language

The successful applicant for the position of Professor of Philosophy (W3) 
with a focus on Logic and Philosophy of Language will be expected to cover 
the entire fields of Philosophical Logic, Argumentation Theory and 
Language Philosophy. She/he should have a strong academic record in these 
areas. An active interest in the philosophy of Frege and participation in 
systematic debates within contemporary philosophy are desirable. The 
successful applicant will be expected to participate in interdisciplinary 
research programmes of the Department of Philosophy and other university 
units. She/he will moreover be involved in the development of new degree 
programmes. The position involves teaching in the courses 'BA in 
Philosophy' and 'MA in Philosophy' as well as in the teacher training 
programmes.

Requirements for application include a PhD and a Habilitation or 
equivalent academic achievements as well as demonstrated teaching skills.
