The Division of Physics, Mathematics, and Astronomy at the California 
Institute of Technology invites applications for a possible tenure-track 
position at the assistant professor level. We are especially interested in 
the following research areas:

     * Algebraic Geometry/Number theory
     * Analysis/Dynamics
     * Combinatorics
     * Finite and Algebraic Groups
     * Geometry/Topology
     * Logic/Set Theory
     * Mathematical Physics

but other fields may be considered.

The term of the initial appointment is normally four years for a 
tenure-track assistant professor (with a possible extension to as much as 
seven years). Appointment is contingent upon completion of the Ph.D.

Exceptionally well-qualified applicants may also be considered at the 
associate or full professor level.

We are seeking highly qualified applicants who are committed to a career 
in research and teaching. Applicants will be considered for either or both 
positions if they become available.
