Series of Events in Athens & Columbus, Ohio; May 2003

You are cordially invited to a series of events in Ohio during the third
week of May 2003 devoted to the model theory of modules.

Throughout that week (May 12 - 16, except Thursday), the Ohio University
Center for Ring Theory and its Applications

introductory tutorial lectures
<http://math.ohiou.edu/%7Eslopez/center/events.html> by Mike Prest
<http://www.ma.man.ac.uk/%7Emprest/> (Manchester). These lectures are
aimed at beginning graduate students and workers in related areas.

Thursday, May 15, Mike Prest will give a colloquium
<http://www.math.ohio-state.edu/%7Enevai/coll.html> in the Department of
Mathematics <http://www.math.ohio-state.edu/> of the Ohio State University
at Columbus.

Saturday, May 17, as a sequel to the Athens tutorial lectures, The Ohio
State University at Lima <http://www.lima.ohio-state.edu/math/index.htm>
will host a workshop <http://www.lima.ohio-state.edu/math/RingEvents.htm>
devoted to current trends in the field.  Several experts will give
extended informal lectures on their lines of research.  Mike Prest
(Manchester) and Gena Puninski
<http://www.lima.ohio-state.edu/math/People/Puninskiy.htm> (Moscow and
Lima) have already agreed to talk on pure-injective modules over
finite-dimensional algebras and exotic projective modules, respectively.
