Special Session on "History of Mathematics" at the AMS Sectional Meeting in New York, April 2003

Dear Colleagues,

There will be a special session on the history of mathematics at the
Spring Eastern Sectional meeting of the AMS, which will be held at the
Courant Institute of New York University on Saturday and Sunday April
12-13, 2003. Pat Allaire and I are organizing this session, and we hope
that many of you will be able attend the session and/or present a paper.
We welcome topics from any historical period, and also welcome papers on
the philosophy of mathematics which illuminate the history of mathematics.

The deadline for abstract submission is ten days hence: Tuesday, February
18. Abstracts must be submitted directly to the AMS. The easiest way to
submit an abstract is to use the AMS' Web Form, although you may also
submit via email, or in hard copy (which the AMS tries to discourage by
charging a US$20 fee). Instructions are at:

Best regards from snowy New York,

Rob Bradley
