10-14 August 2009
Las Cruces NM, U.S.A.

BLAST August 10 - 14, 2009, New Mexico State University,
Las Cruces, NM, USA

BLAST is a conference focusing on Boolean Algebras, Lattices, Algebraic
Logic, Universal Algebra, Set Theory, Set-theoretic Topology and
Point-free Topology. The conference webpage is at
http://www.math.nmsu.edu/blast

The conference is the second in a series that will rotate among
universities of the region. (See BLAST Committee below.) The first
conference was held in Denver last summer http://www.math.du.edu/blast/
and was a big success.

Invited Speakers:

Mick Adams (SUNY)
Alan Dow (University of North Carolina)
Marcel Erne (University of Hanover)
Mikls Marti (University of Szeged)
Drew Moshier (Chapman University)
Larry Moss (Indiana University)
Dilip Raghavan (University of Toronto)
Yde Venema (University of Amsterdam)

Tutorials:

Categorical Logic: Rick Blute (University of Ottawa)
Boolean Algebras/Set Theory: Natasha Dobrinen (University of Denver)
Universal Algebra: Peter Jipsen (Chapman University)
Set-Theoretic Topology: Ralph Kopperman (CUNY)

Contributed Talks: To apply to give a contributed talk, please submit a
title and abstract in Latex or plain text on the abstract submission page

http://www.math.nmsu.edu/blast/subreg.html by May 30. After May 30,
contributed talks may still be accepted, depending on available space.

Travel and Lodging Grants: Pending NSF approval, support for graduate
students and postdocs will be available. To apply, please send a brief
statement of research interests. The first round of decisions will be
made by May 1. Applications received after May 1 will be considered on a
rolling basis.

Local Information: We have secured 50 rooms at a hotel near campus. The
rooms are $60 per night plus tax. The hotel will arrange double occupancy

($30 per night) upon request. The hotel is clean, very comfortable, and
convenient. For additional information see
http://www.math.nmsu.edu/blast/accommodation.html

Important dates:

Expression of interest: March 30 (voluntary, non-committing)
send to BLAST@math.nmsu.edu

            Financial support: May 1.

            Abstract submission: May 30.

Local Organizing and Program Committee: Guram Bezhanishvili, John Harding,
